Scout fees are split into State Membership Fee and Local Group Fees
If you decide to join your child up after a trial, the costs will include the current full term plus joining fee and purchase of a uniform shirt.
A uniform shirt can be purchased from the Scout Shop, there is free shipping for orders over $10. You can choose between a button up shirt or a polo shirt (Joeys are only a polo shirt), we recommend the button up shirt for older sections as it holds up better over time. There is also a second hand facebook group called Scout Uniform Exchange, but it can be hit and miss on availability and location of items.
Initial fees are:
$70 joining fee (includes scarf, woggle, badges and book)
+ $95 term fee ($42 to Scouts NSW registration, $10 to section funds, $43 to group funds for overheads, equipment, leader training, leader fees etc..)
= $165
An Active Kids Rebate voucher can be used to offset the cost of joining if you haven’t already used elsewhere.
Fees are payable before Investiture (joining ceremony) and then in advance of each term or when offered, annual in advance for a 10% discount.
Active Kids Rebate voucher 1 is only available over 3 terms through Scouts NSW (as it only applies to the registration part) and Active Kids Rebate voucher 2 is treated as AKR1 if it is your first voucher claimed through scouting, please let us know if you intend to claim and we can explain how it works.

or by cash to leaders – please place in a sealed envelope labelled with the amount, date what it’s for (including section) and your name. This will go to the Treasurer and a receipt will be issued. Our busy volunteers appreciate any cash being labelled properly.
Sections meet every week during school terms and to get the most out of scouting it is expected that members attend every week and contact leaders if absent. Once registered, membership continues until such time as we receive notification from you. Census dates for Scouts NSW Registration are 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October and notification is required prior to these dates for membership resignation or you will be expected to pay fees for the following period. Please let us know straight away if there are ever any fee issues as it is much easier to sort out in advance.
Once fees are paid and you have a shirt, Investiture will be organised by section leaders and you are invited to attend and welcome to take photos.
