Youth Membership Renewals
Dear Scout Families,
We understand that from time to time, families may face financial challenges that make it difficult to cover the cost of extracurricular activities.
Scouts NSW offers a Family Support Fund, which is designed to assist youth members experiencing genuine financial hardship by providing support toward state membership fees. This ensures that all young people have the opportunity to continue enjoying the benefits of Scouting without financial barriers.
Please note:
- The Family Support Fund is completely confidential
- Applications are assessed independently by Scouts NSW
- Assistance is available for youth members aged 5–18 for up to 12 months
- Funding is limited to families experiencing genuine financial hardship (general cost of living increases alone are not considered eligible)
Applications are now open for 2026 renewals and will close on 24 April 2026. The application process is straightforward and typically takes around two weeks for an outcome.

In addition, payment plans are also available for membership fees. If spreading payments over time would make things more manageable, please feel free to reach out to Scouts NSW.
If you feel either of these options may be helpful for your family, we encourage you to reach out or apply directly. If you have any questions or would like guidance, please feel free to contact me privately.
We want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to participate in Scouting, and these options are here to support families who may need a little extra help.
Kind regards,
Lisa
